1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Vera ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Vera is an AI-powered fact-checking and verification assistant that helps users evaluate the trustworthiness of information. The Service provides:

• Trust scores indicating confidence levels
• Web search with source citations
• Multi-model verification (Pro tier)
• Personal knowledge base (Plus and Pro tiers)
• Bias and manipulation detection

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
• One account per person; accounts are non-transferable

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

• 20 messages per day
• Single AI model responses
• Basic trust scores

Plus Subscription ($4.99/month)

• Unlimited messages
• Web search with citations
• Personal knowledge base
• URL content extraction

Pro Subscription ($9.99/month)

• Everything in Plus
• Multi-model verification (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini)
• Advanced bias detection
• Hallucination detection
• Priority support

Payment Terms

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
• No refunds for partial subscription periods

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to manipulate or game trust scores
• Submit queries designed to generate harmful or misleading content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's functionality
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated systems to access the Service beyond normal use
• Redistribute or resell Service outputs commercially

6. Browser Extensions

When using Vera browser extensions:

• Extensions require permission to access page content for analysis
• You control when the extension analyzes content
• We do not automatically track or analyze your browsing
• Extensions are subject to browser store policies

7. Disclaimer

Important: Vera is an AI-powered tool and is provided for informational purposes only. The Service:

• Does not guarantee 100% accuracy of any information
• Should not be the sole basis for important decisions
• Is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.)
• May produce errors or hallucinations despite verification measures
• Trust scores indicate relative confidence, not absolute truth
• Cannot verify all claims, especially recent or obscure information

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

9. Intellectual Property

• You may not copy, modify, or distribute Service content without permission
• The Vera name and logo are trademarks of Animora Media

10. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through the app settings
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
• Data deletion follows the timeline in our Privacy Policy

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
